Bamber Bridge were denied a fourth consecutive home win by Kyle Harrison's 93rd-minute header in a 1-1 draw against Stalybridge Celtic.

It was Brig who started the game on the front foot, Fin Sinclair-Smith forcing a low save out of Greg Hall after breaking the offside trap.

At the other end, Luke Hutchinson was then called into action to deny Djavan Pedro after the Stalybridge forward was played through on goal.

Brig then had several opportunities within a matter of minutes before half-time, with Matty Thomson, Chris Churchman and Harry Scarborough hitting efforts over the crossbar.

And it was Scarborough that almost put Brig ahead on 66 minutes, receiving the ball inside the area before seeing his close-range effort well blocked by a defender.

As Brig continued to press Sinclair-Smith then drove into the area, before beating two defenders on the inside and seeing his effort saved by Hall.

And the Brig forward hit the side netting on 87 minutes with a 20-yard curling effort to bring the hosts agonisingly close to an opener.

But they would get the opener just minutes later - and it was a goal to remember. From 25 yards out, substitute Connor Stanley took one touch and volleyed the ball straight into the top right corner in what was an instant goal of the season contender.

It wasn't to be the goal that sealed victory, however, with Harrison heading in a long throw off the post on 93 minutes to rescue a point for Stalybridge.

The result keeps Brig in third place in the NPL Premier Division, with Gainsborough Trinity the next visitors to the Sir Tom Finney Stadium next Saturday.
